Apple iPhone. Where is the GPS? And the apps? And the name?

January 12th, 2007

Apple logoSo, Apple announced the iPhone. After the stock leap at Nasdaq, people seem to be having a closer look at what was really announced. Some analyst is writing down a few numbers. Somewhere else we read that, in order to achieve better stability, the iPhone will be a closed system. No third-party apps. I’m desperately seeking for built-in GPS. My little Mio A701 is a phone, an MP3 player, a video player, a camera and a GPS. I can put almost any kind of app on it and, with a lot of gadgets included in the package, I need no additional shopping. Who is going to buy the 10 millions iPhones to make Jobs happy? And what about the nice use of Cisco trademark?

Windows Vista 64 bit driver signing

December 27th, 2006

Windows VistaAfter several hours spent reading, searching, deciphering and listening to music, I still don’t know for sure what do I need to buy in order to sign the 64 bit driver for SpeedFan. An interesting page seems to be this one from MS, but one of the first sentences there is “This information is temporarily unavailable. Check back soon for updates.“, which is not that encouraging. Any thought, or hint?

Welcome computer addicteds

This is my very first blog. Sorry for some preliminary, eventual, mistakes. The idea behind this blog is that, while working on SpeedFan, I found several interesting things to talk/chat/blog about. While SpeedFan’s websites (the main one and the support one) need to be very precise, double-checked, politically correct and so on, I feel the need for a website where I can talk in a more relaxed way. I hope you will appreciate and enjoy this approach. Feel free to share your experience.
